Press Release

DC Moore Gallery is pleased to present THREE, a group show featuring work by Beverly Acha, Theresa Daddezio, and Jim Gaylord.

Beverly Acha uses boldly colored linear and curvilinear shapes, precisely layered against each other to create vibrant grid structures. Her work is a meditation on the freedom and expressivity that can manifest in repetition. Acha was a resident at The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and she is currently an assistant professor of Studio Art at Oberlin College.

Theresa Daddezio uses patterns and undulating shapes that emulate light and microbial forms. Her paintings abstractly conjure shapes and movements of the body. Daddezio received her MFA at Hunter College, and lives and works in New York.

Jim Gaylord, through a meticulous process of addition and removal, creates collages that are stunning experiments in formalism and color theory. Gaylord’s works are collected widely, and are included in The Museum of Modern Art’s permanent collection. The artist lives and works in New York.

This exhibit will run concurrently with Max Kozloff: The Atmospherics of Interruption: Paintings 1966-2018.
